RICHWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities discovered a body within a Richwood residence after responding to call on Tuesday.
According to reports from Chief Dan Pitts of the Richwood Police Department, officers with the department, along with the West Virginia State Police, received a call of a possible deceased male in the Walnut Alley area.
Officers observed nothing of note in the alley upon arrival.
A number of bystanders then directed officers to a nearby residence.
There, a male was found inside of his home and, upon further investigation, the was determined to be deceased.
It was determined that the body was that of a local resident who appears to have passed away due to natural causes.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
The Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted, and took possession of the subject soon after to perform an autopsy.
”Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family members and friends of the deceased,” read a statement from department.
