CLAY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities in Clay County are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found along a walking trail earlier this month.
West Virginia State Police said troopers were notified on Dec. 19 after a body was discovered on the Rail Trail located between the communities of Ivydale and Clay.

Responding officers confirmed the individual was deceased at the scene.
Investigators said there are no signs indicating foul play at this time. However, officials noted that the investigation remains open while they await the results of an autopsy and toxicology testing to determine the exact cause of death.
