HICO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Midland Trail High School’s football program is asking the community for prayers after one of its players was injured in an accident.
In a message shared by Midland Trail Football, the team said quarterback Rayce Dickerson was injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a dirt bike.
“Patriot Nation, we are no strangers to requesting prayer. But here we believe in the power of prayer and once again one of our own was in an accident,” the team wrote.
According to the post, Dickerson “was injured after being hit by a vehicle on his dirt bike.” The team said he suffered multiple injuries but is expected to recover.
“He suffered multiple injuries and will be ok but has a long recovery road ahead of him,” the statement said.
The program asked supporters and the community to keep Dickerson in their thoughts and prayers as he begins his recovery.
“We ask that you join us in prayer for Rayce. Thanks in advance,” the team wrote. “We love you, RD3.”
Sources say a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the accident, and we are working to get more details.
