CHARLTON HEIGHTS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – UPDATE 7/9/2025 7:57 PM: The body found on July 7, 2025, along Route 60 in the Charlton Heights area of Fayette County has been positively identified as Robert L. Waller, a 47-year-old man from Wayne County.
Waller had been reported missing earlier the same day.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Office of the State Medical Examiner, is continuing to investigate the cause of death.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a body was discovered in a ditch along U.S. Route 60 in the Charlton Heights area on the evening of July 7.
Deputies responded to the scene and found an unresponsive adult male, who was pronounced dead at the location.

The man had no identifying documents with him, and authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
The man is described as being between 45 and 55 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing around 175 pounds.
He has dark-colored hair that had been dyed auburn or dark red. A tattoo on his left shoulder and upper arm reads “Baby Britt.”
