BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Danville, WV man faces a first-degree murder charge.
According to Boone County Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday, July 9, 2023, deputies responded to 7075 Camp Creek Road for a stabbing. When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim, Lodis James Lafferty, appearing to be dead with what appeared to be a substantial wound to his neck.
After an initial investigation, James Edward Pugh III made a spontaneous utterance that he had stabbed the victim during an argument. Two witnesses inside the home advised that Lafferty had come to their bedroom door and said James had stabbed him.
Pugh was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He is being held in jail without bond.
