Hico – Midland Trail raced out to a 45-10 halftime lead en route to a 60-27 win over Richwood (0-5).
Jaden Gladwell had 12 points for the Patriots, while Bryar Bailes and Justin Cooper scored 10 each. Payton Bailes added nine for Midland Trail (4-0) who travels to PikeView Friday.
Grant Russell paced the Lumberjacks with 11 points and Dalton Spencer scored seven. Richwood travels to Clay County Dec. 28.

Gassaway – One night after scoring 100 points in a win over Independence, Nicholas County was filling up the basket once again Thursday.
Pouring in 47 points in the opening half and knocking down 10 shots from behind the arc, the Grizzlies rolled past Braxton County 86-50.
Ethan Collins scored 21 points and Trey Stump added 17 points to lead Nicholas (2-3). Cole Brown added 14 points, while Landon Hanna and Jaxson Morriston scored nine points each.
Stump, Collins and Brown all had three long balls each.
Stevie Boggs had 20 for the Eagles.
Nicholas County plays Riverside Dec. 27 in the Winterfest Classic at the Summersville Arena and Conference Center.
