Charleston – No. 1 Morgantown took a 23-12 lead after a quarter and was never challenged afterwards, disposing of No. 4 Huntington 66-41 Thursday evening in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
The win sends Morgantown to the Class AAAA championship game for the third consecutive season where it will face No. 3 Parkersburg South in a rematch of last year’s title game on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The defensing champion Mohigans received solid efforts from Sha’Ron young and Brody Davis who scored 25 and 20 points, respectively. Both also added nine rebounds in the win.
Huntington, which shot 30 percent for the game, was led by Mikey Johnson who scored 17 points and grabbed 11 boards.
