NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Braxton County man is charged after he tried to meet a 15-year-old at a church for sex.
According to court records, Larry Simmons Jr. was communicating with whom he thought was a 15-year-old female. During the conversation, Simmons asked the juvenile to engage in sexual activities and to meet him at Trinity Baptist Church in Birch River. Authorities say Phillips traveled from his residence in Burnsville to Birch River and was waiting at the church.
Police arrested the suspect, who did admit he was communicating with whom he thought was a female juvenile and was planning on having sex with her. Simmons had three condoms in his pocket at the time of the arrest.
Simmons is charged with soliciting a minor via computer. He is being held in Central Regional Jail under a 50,000 cash-only bond.
