BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An inmate found unresponsive inside his cell at Southern Regional Jail has died.
An incarcerated Fayette County man identified as 45-year-old Scott Alan Cafego, was found unresponsive in his cell Monday morning at the Southern Regional Jail Correctional Facility, according to authorities with the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Staff performed life-saving procedures to revive him and the inmate was transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center for additional care. Unfortunately, the inmate passed away Monday morning at the hospital.
No additional information is available at this time as this incident is under investigation by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Criminal Investigation Division and the West Virginia State Police.
