HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On August 31, 2024, Shalynn Burge, an employee at the Burger King located at 3210 Washington Blvd in Cabell County, Huntington, allegedly stole two bank deposit bags totaling $1,553.62 from the restaurant’s safe.
According to reports, Burge informed a colleague that she was heading to the bank to deposit the funds. However, surveillance footage revealed that after retrieving the two deposit bags from the office safe, she concealed them in her lower back waistline under her work shirt before leaving the store. Burge was then seen entering an Uber vehicle from the rear passenger side and departing the property.
By September 2, 2024, the $1,553.62 had not been deposited into the restaurant’s designated bank account, and Burge resigned from her position the same day. As of now, the stolen funds have neither been returned nor deposited.
Burge was charged with embezzlement.
