PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Princeton couple faces charges after an 8-month-old infant overdosed on Fentanyl.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched to Princeton Community Hospital after an 8-month-old baby overdosed on Fentanyl. A nurse told police that the infant was brought in for seizures but found to have tested positive for Fentanyl and was suffering an overdose. The infant was given Naloxone and was successful in reversing the effects. The infant was airlifted to Roanoke Hospital.
During an interview with Aspen Funk, she says that Justin Funk physically abused her multiple times. Ms. Funk also stated that Justin Funk lived at the home and was a habitual user of Fentanyl.
When troopers interviewed Justin Funk, he said he didn’t live at home and was unsure how the Fentanyl couldn’t have entered the house.
Troopers said two other children were inside the home when the incident happened.
Both were charged with three counts of child neglect, resulting in injury.
