CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Visiting the doctor or hospital can be a scary experience for children, but Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is aiming to change that with its upcoming Teddy Bear Fair.
The event, designed to introduce children to health care in a friendly and engaging way, will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital.
At the fair, children can pick up a free stuffed animal and learn about health care in a hands-on setting.
Medical professionals will use the stuffed animals to demonstrate common procedures like applying band-aids, taking X-rays, and putting on casts.
The goal is to help young visitors feel more at ease during future medical visits.
Educational booths will cover topics such as safety, nutrition, exercise, and handwashing.
Games, prizes, and interactive activities will make learning about health both fun and memorable for kids and their families.
Best of all, the Teddy Bear Fair is completely free and open to the public.
