The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the third of the prep softball season. Voting will close Thursday, April 6 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

Emma Johnson, Princeton – Johnson pitched a gem against Beckley, striking out 13 and allowing just one run in a 3-1 sectional win over the Flying Eagles.

Savannah Brehm, Wyoming East – Brehm batted .429, blasted a home run and drive in 5 runs for Wyoming East this past week.

Taylor Boswell, Greenbrier East – Boswell scorched the ball, batting .643 across for games, helping East to a 3-1 record last week. She finished with 9 hits and drove in 9 runs.

Kanyon Green, Liberty – Green drove in 6 runs hitting a home run to go along with a walkoff double that gave Liberty a 9-8 win over Westside. She batted .375 for the week.

Avary Bragg, Shady Spring – Bragg batted .600, drove in five runs and went 2-0 in the circle with 22 strikeouts.

Aubrey Smallwood, Beckley – Smallwood batted .636 across four games, striking out 41 batters in 17 innings of work.

Keylee Lester, River View – Lester batted .750 in eight at-bats, driving in four runs.
- Alli Hypes, Independence – Hypes collected four hits and drove in four runs last week, helping Indy to a 2-1 record.
- Brilee Redden, Greenbrier West – Redden continued her torrid start to her high school career, going 2-0 against larger schools Nicholas County and Beckley. She pitched 12 innings against both schools, compiling 25 strikeouts without allowing a single run.
