The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the third week of the prep baseball season. Voting will close Friday, April 14 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Gabe Patton, Greenbrier East – Patton’s week was highlighted by a complete game no-hitter he threw in a 4-0 win giants sectional foe Princeton.
- Clay Basham, Independence – Basham batted .333, blasting the winning home run in a win over Nichols County.
- Larry Bigham, Midland Trail – Bigham struck out 15 batters in 7.2 innings of work last week to go with a .429 batting average and four RBI.
- Jacob Meadows, Shady Spring – Meadows batted .667 last week, driving in nine runs to help the Tigers secure a 4-0 record.
- Brandan Isaac, Summers County – Isaac batted .778, driving in six run for the Bobcats while also stealing six bases.
- Zach Rose, PikeView – Rose batted .643 to lead the team with nine hits while driving in five runs. The biggest was a game-winner against Westside that came via a suicide squeeze.
- Hunter Harmon, Bluefield – Harmon batted .500 with five RBI while going 2-0 on the mound. His top performance was a complete game effort where he struck out 15 batters in a 3-1 win against PikeView.
- Kaiden Vance, Westside – Vance collected five hits and drove in three runs but his throw from the outfield gunned a runner down at the plate preventing Liberty from tying the game in a 10-9 Westside win.
