The Lootpress Player of the Week Award, sponsored by Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the boys and girls basketball season.
Below are the candidates for the third week of the boys basketball season. Voting will close Monday at midnight. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie.
- Chase McClung, Greenbrier West – McClung scored 25 points and recorded five steals as Greenbrier West remained unbeaten with a win over Class AAA Independence.
- Elijah Redfern, Beckley – Redfern scored 24 points, helping the Flying Eagles rally from a double-digit deficit to beat Beckley 51-47.
- Kendrick Wilson, Greater Beckley – Wilson canned the game-winner against Class AAAA Greenbrier East as Greater Beckley remained unbeaten. Wilson scored 11 point in the win.
- Evan Colucci, Westside – Colucci scored 30 points, leading Westside past Independence earlier this week.
- Sam Boothe, Mercer Christian – Boothe averaged 19 points per game across two contests as Mercer Christian won the Jefferson Christian Christmas Tournament.
