The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the seventh week of the prep softball season. Voting will close Friday, May 12 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Josi Ervin, Greenbrier East – Ervin continued her dominance of rival Beckley, going 2-0 with a pair of wins in the sectional tournament. She pitched 12 innings and allowed just one run, an unearned one, while striking out 17.
- Kendall Martin, Independence – Martin batted .727 across three sectional games, compiling eight hits, blasting two home runs, driving in six runs total.
- Mallie Lawson, Shady Spring – Lawson batted .500 with six hits for the Tigers who went 2-2 in sectional play.
- Savannah Brehm, Wyoming East – Brehm hit .455 in the sectional tournament, adding a home run and driving in eight runs for the Lady Warriors.
- Maddie Lawson, Bluefield – Lawson scorched the ball, batting 6 for 11 with nine RBIs as the Lady Beavers swept the sectional tournament, claiming the first sectional championship in program history.
- Maddie Fields, Greenbrier West – Fields helped Greenbrier West claim its first sectional title in four years with a 4 for 6 week at the plate where she blasted a grand slam and drove in eight runs.
