The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Dutch Miller and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for a third year.
Below are the candidates for the eighth week of the boys basketball season. Voting will close Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here

Week 7 had two winners as weather led to the postponement of most games throughout Week 6.
- Ammar Maxwell, Shady Spring – Maxwell poured in 38 points in a win over Independence.
- Ashton Arthur, Independence – Arthur scored 26 in a loss to Shady Spring and 23 in a win over Liberty.
- MJ Patton, Mercer Christian – Patton broke 20 points in all of MCA’s games this week, posting 40 points on one occasion.
- Brent Conley, Oak Hill – Conley broke double figures three times with a high of 19 points for the Red Devils this week.
- Brady Baker, James Monroe – James Monroe picked up three wins this week in large part because of Baker who scored in double figures all three games with 13 and 15 points in overtime wins.
- Brayden McClung, Greenbrier West – McClung may have lost but he poured in a 39 points in an overtime defeat at James Monroe.
- Brayden French, Westside – French scored in double figures three times to help Westside to a 2-1 week with a key win over Wyoming East. His high was 23 points.
- Nazir King, Beckley – King scored 17 points in a win over Greenbrier East.
- Brandan Isaac, Summers County – Isaac poured in 28 points against Meadow Bridge for one of two 20-point performances during the week.
- Kam’Ron Gore, Bluefield – Gore was consistent again with a pair of double-digit scoring performances in wins against Oak Hill and Beckley.
- Isaiah Kincaid, Greater Beckley – Kincaid scored 13 in a win for the Crusaders.
- Eli Campbell, Midland Trial – Campbell scored 18 in a huge win against Herbert Hoover and 15 Saturday against Summers County.
- Jared Vestal, PikeView – Vestal broke double figures twice in a pair of victories, scoring 20 and 17 in consecutive games to key the Panthers.
