Charles “Charlie” Emory Hoke, age 84, of Union, WV, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021. Born October 29, 1936 in Hollywood, WV, he was the son of the late Jahue and Hattie Hall Hoke. Charlie served his Country in the U.S. Army. He drove a school bus for Monroe County Schools, and he was a retired milk truck driver. Charlie enjoyed his family, the great outdoors, and keeping his yard mowed and looking good at all times. He also attended the Forrest Run Community Church at Hollywood, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Hoke; three sisters, Hazel Walcott, Betty Hoke, and infant Violet Hoke; six brothers, Lonnie, Elba, Wilbur, Junior, Albert, and Clayton Hoke. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Alma Jean Dunbar Hoke of Union, WV; two sons, Emory Hoke and wife Betty of Ronceverte, WV, and Wayne Hoke of Gap Mills, WV; two daughters, Diane Hoke of Gap Mills, WV, and Anita Wickline of Union, WV; two brothers, Willie Hoke of Lewisburg, WV, and Roy Hoke of Hollywood, WV; several in-laws on the Dunbar side of the family survive; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
In keeping with Charlie’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
