CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The cities of Charles Town and Rason will be hosting their Annual Downtown Christmas Parade event on Saturday.
Scheduled to begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 2, 2023, the parade will enter Charles Town from Ranson on North Mildred Street and proceed southbound to the intersection of East Washington Street.
The parade will then travel westbound on Washington Street through the downtown area to the intersection of Lawrence Street where the proceeding will be brought to a conclusion.
The event will bring with it a number of parking and traffic restrictions enacted by local authorities beginning at 12:30pm on Saturday so as to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
Law enforcement with the Charles Town Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Reserves, as well as civilian personnel, will be on hand in and around the general parade area.
Motorists traveling eastbound and westbound on WV Route 51 (Washington Street) at the time of the event have been encouraged to utilize an alternate route. Northbound access into the City of Ranson from the downtown area will be unavailable during the parade.
Extended delays in traffic – as can generally be anticipated during events of this nature – should be planned for accordingly by those in the area.
