FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County woman was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly assaulting her fiancĂ© during a domestic dispute.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call at approximately 6:26 p.m. on February 6, 2025, regarding a physical altercation at a residence on East Riverside Drive in Charlton Heights. Deputies arrived on the scene at 6:53 p.m., where they were met at the driveway gate by the alleged victim, Michael Armstrong.
Armstrong informed deputies that he and his fiancée, Melody Williams, had been arguing after he refused to give her the keys to her vehicle due to her level of intoxication. He stated that during the dispute, Williams struck him in the face and scratched him. Deputies observed visible red marks and scratches on the left side of Armstrong’s face.
Upon questioning, Williams, who appeared intoxicated, admitted to hitting Armstrong during the argument. Based on her statement and the evidence at the scene, deputies placed her under arrest. She was taken into custody and transported in Deputy Farley’s patrol vehicle.
Williams has been charged with domestic battery and is currently awaiting further legal proceedings.
