PHILIPPI, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A young child was airlifted to a Morgantown hospital after consuming gummy candy containing intoxicants, authorities said.
On February 23, 2025, emergency responders were called to 105 South Main Ave., Apt. 3, to assist EMS with a child who had ingested the gummies. The child’s mother, Ms. Triplett, told officers that she had purchased the gummies from a smoke shop, and they were accessible in her home.
The child was initially taken to Broaddus Hospital for treatment before being flown to a Morgantown hospital for further care.
The mother, Shyann Triplett, is charged with child neglect. She is being held under a 30,000 dollar bond.
