MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)– The Children’s Home Society is planning a welcome summer event for the community.
The event features free food, carnival games, and other fun activities for children. It will be held on Thursday, July 1 at 5:00 pm at the Forever Families Resource Center in Northfork, WV.
Organizer Tina Williams says she is elated to offer this event to the community.
“We live in McDowell County, and there aren’t that many resources and activities in our area. There are some, but not many. It’s just something for children to do,” said Williams.
The resource center is also giving attendees an open house to their facility. Residents can meet the employees and learn about specific programs they have. Currently, they offer therapy for children 17 and younger, adoption, a mentoring program, and a blessing box.
“We just want the community to know we’re here for them. What better way to let them know other than just telling them is to show them,” said Williams.
Forever Families Resource Center is located at 34149 Coal Heritage Road, Northfork, West Virginia, 24868. For any information about the event or programs they offer, contact 304-862-4951 or visit their website.
