The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the fourth week of the girls basketball season. Voting will close Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- Maddie Clark, Wyoming East – Clark scored 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting as Wyoming East picked up a 53-30 win over Summers County. Clark also held her primary defensive assignment to two points on 0 of 12 shooting.
- Cadence Stewart, Greenbrier East – Stewart averaged 24 points per game last week, including a 35-point showing in the opening game of the Carolina Invitational in South Carolina.
- Gracie Harvey, Summers County – Harvey averaged 11 points per game for the Bobcats who went 1-1. Her contributions helped Summers pick up a 42-40 road win at Chapmanville.
- Abigail Thomas, Greenbrier West – Thomas scored 19 points across two games, earning all-tournament honors of the Cavaliers who won the Braxton County Holiday Tournament.
- Adyson Hines, James Monroe – Hines helped the Lady Mavs to a 1-1 record at Tucker County, hitting the game-winning buzzer beater against Class AA Frankfort. She also averaged 10.5 rebounds per game.
