The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the fifth week of the prep baseball season. Voting will close Friday, April 28 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Clay Basham, Independence – Basham batted .714 last week with five RBIs and eight runs, helping Indy to a 2-1 record.
- Bo Persinger, Midland Trail – Persinger batted .444 during a 3-1 week for Midland Trail, driving in four runs and hitting a home run.
- Zach Rose, PikeView – Rose batted .412 with three RBIs, scoring six runs for PikeView.
- Jacob Meadows, Shady Spring – Meadows batted .500, collecting six hits and drawing five walks for the Tigers. He also drove in three runs and scored seven more.
- Jacob Howard, Wyoming East – Howard blasted the ball last week, batting .667 with three home runs and six RBIs.
- Landon Hall, Liberty – Hall was 7 for 13 last week with four RBIs and four runs scored.
- Jake Boone, Summers County – Boone batted .455 driving in four runs and scoring five for the Bobcats. He also picked up a win against Richwood.
- Zack Jenkins, Princeton – Jenkins batted .650 with 13 hits, driving in eight runs for the Tigers.
