The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the fifth week of the prep baseball season. Voting will close Friday, April 28 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Kayley Bane, Wyoming East – Bane batted .650 with 13 hits and two triples during a 4-1 week for the Lady Warriors.
- Emma Johnson, Princeton – Johnson batted .700 with seven hits, including a home run while driivng in eight runs. She also went 2-1 in the circle.
- Josi Ervin, Greenbrier East – Ervin went 2-1 in the circle with 25 strikeouts in 16 innings. She also batted .467 with seven hits.
- Delaney Buckland, Independence – Buckland went 5-1 in the circle last week striking out 57 batters in 37 innings of work while allowing just 10 earned runs. Her contributions helped Indy sweep the section.
- Avary Bragg, Shady Spring – Bragg batted .538 last week with four RBIs for the Tigers
- Preslee Treadway, Greenbrier West – Treadway was 9 of 15 at the plate last week drivng in 11 runs and launching three home runs during a 4-1 week for the Cavaliers.
- Aubrey Smallwood, Beckley – Smallwood went 3-0 in the circle, striking out 58 batters in 21 innings. At the plate she batted .438 with six hits.
