The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the sixth week of the prep baseball season. Voting will close Friday, May 5 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Cole Cunningham, Independence – Cunningham batted .778 with six RBIs last week. He also went 1-0 on the mound with seven strikeouts in seven innings pitched..
- Aaron Dempsey, Midland Trail – Dempsey batted .875 with seven hits while also driving in seven runs for the Patriots..
- Jared Vestal, PikeView – Vestal batted .400 with four RBIs and also picked up a win on the mound with five strikeouts in five innings pitched..
- Adam Richmond, Shady Spring – Richmond batted .556 for the Tigers with three RBIs but found his way on base consistently with seven walks.
- Miken Smyth, Wyoming East – Smyth batted .611 with 11 hits and five RBIs for the Warriors. On the bump he pitched 8.1 innings with 10 strikeouts, going 1-0.
- Brandan Isaac, Summers County – Isaac batted .600 with four RBIs while daring six walks. He also picked up two wins on the mound and extended his on-base streak to 21 consecutive games..
- Brody Combs, Princeton – Combs hit .571 for the Tigers last week, driving in four runs.
