The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the sixth week of the prep softball season. Voting will close Friday, May 5 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Paytin Brehm, Wyoming East – Brehm went 1-1 in the circle, pitching 14 innings and striking out 20 while positing a 0.50 ERA for the Lady Warriors.
- Emma Johnson, Princeton – Johnson batted .429 last week, driving in four runs for the Tigers.
- Olivia Plybon, Greenbrier East – Plybon batted .545, driving in 10 RBIs on the week while swatting a home run as well for the Spartans.
- Alli Hypes, Independence – Hypes batted .600 for the Patriots and crossed the plate five times.
- Kaylee Waddell, Shady Spring – Waddell batted .615 for the Tigers last week, driving in four runs.
- Brilee Redden, Greenbrier West – Redden wen 4 for 7 at the plate with a trio of RBIs. She also pitched 11 innings, striking out 22 batters while going 1-1 in the circle..
- Aubrey Smallwood, Beckley – Smallwood went 4-0 in the circle, striking out 59 batters in 26 innings. At the plate she batted .500 with six hits and four RBIs.
- Zadie Worley, Liberty – Worley hit a home run in her only at bat but drew a pair of walks in her other two plate appearances. She also drove in three RBIs for the Raiders.
- Hannah Honosky, River View – Honosky batted .625 with five hits, driving in three runs.
