BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Beckley, along with the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the community’s fifth remote worker, Rebecca Benjamin on Monday.
The welcoming ceremony, which was attended by Beckley Mayor Rob Rappold, brought attention to the city’s remote program, as well as the Beckley Remote Co-working space.
“Our Beckley Remote program has been up and running for over a year and we’ve found it to be a successful way to bring new talent to the region,” said Michelle Rotellini, President / CEO of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.
The number of remote workers nationwide has skyrocketed since March of 2020, creating opportunities not only for bringing residents to the area, but for establishing jobs in the area as well.
“We are thrilled to recruit young talent that has an interest in living in our small-town outdoor community,” said Corey Lilly, Director of Outdoor Economic Development for the City of Beckley.
“Beckley has an abundance of recreational opportunities for multiple user groups and we’re excited to use these assets to attract outdoor-minded folks to our town”
