WELCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Welch launched the CoalTown, USA brand to draw attention to the individuals, businesses, non-profits, and city government working together to grow the community economically and culturally.
The CoalTown, USA concept strongly emphasizes heritage tourism and creative events. The City of Welch developed several events and activities geared to draw tourists to the area and give local residents access to community-building activities for all ages.
Combined with the natural landscapes of McDowell County and the Appalachian traditions of the citizens, CoalTown, USA, provides a unique opportunity to experience the charm of a town deeply rooted in West Virginia’s Coalfields and learn the big plans for the future also.
