CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The WVU Tech basketball teams came away with convincing road wins Saturday over Ohio Christian University.
The men extended their win streak to seven games in a row in the opening contest of the day with an 84-56 pounding of the Trailblazers (0-6, 0-3).
Andreas Jonsson and Juvante’ Hayes led four Golden Bears in double figures with 18 points apiece. Jonsson and Hayes combined to drill nine long balls on 13 attempts.
Tamon Scruggs scored 15 points and Andrew Work added 13 along with six rebounds.
The win brings  the men’s record to 10-2 overall and 5-0 in the River States Conference.
In the nightcap, the women bested the Trailblazers (3-3, 1-2), 89-67 for their second win in a row.
Alanis Hill led the Golden Bears with 27 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes of action. Hill also had four steals and four assists.
Brittney Justice poured in 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Elle Baker scored 14 points. Whittney Justice scored 10 points and Alyssa Taylor scored eight.
The women are now 4-7 with all four wins coming in conference play against just one RSC setback.
The men will be back home Wednesday in a non-conference game against Washington Adventist University, while the women play Tuesday at the University of Pikeville also in a non-conference tilt.
