ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The community is invited to Concord University on Thursday, January 27 for a guided paint night with local artist Amy Williams. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Pais Fellowship Hall, located on the ground floor of University Point.
Williams will guide guests as they paint a scene that reflects the nature surrounding Concord University’s campus, also known as “The Campus Beautiful.” The picture captures the pines—a feature planted in 1915 as a wind break that became an iconic symbol on the campus—as well as a tree wearing the colors of fall.
Amy Williams has been leading artists of all ages in guided painting for the past six years. In addition to her painting event business, freelance design work, and painting commissions, she spends her time volunteering for many local community groups. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
Guests for Concord University’s paint night must pre-register at concord.edu/150. The link is found under the events drop-down menu. The cost is $30 per registrant; this includes painting and light refreshments.
Painting “The Campus Beautiful” is one event in a series scheduled to celebrate Concord’s sesquicentennial, 150 years of service to the region.
