ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Concord University Office of Veteran Services will present its Run for Heroes Color Run & Walk 5K event this fall.
Scheduled for 9:00am on Sunday, October 12, 2024, the event will take place at Callaghan Stadium and will see participants finishing the 5K through blue and red clouds. Winners will be recognized with medals and other prizes.
Prior to the race, a moment of silence will be observed in honor of fallen soldiers and injured veterans. Proceeds earned from the event will go toward support of the Office of Veteran Services.
Organizers of the event will utilize the original course which was established a decade ago. The course was attended to be an enjoyable, yet challenging undertaking meant to honor the sacrifice and hard work of personnel of the United States military.
Registration for the race is available online and participants may also register in person the morning of the event beginning at 7:30am. Those who register by September 28, 2024, will receive a discounted participation rate along with a free t-shirt.
