BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) -The COSSAP Report for the month of April, 2022 was approved by the Raleigh County Commission Tuesday during their regular session meeting.
The report details the utilization of funds by the Raleigh County Day Report Center, the recipient of the COSSAP (Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Opioid Abuse Program) Grant.
COSSAP was developed as part of the CARA (Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act) legislation to provide financial and technical assistance to states, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments to develop, implement, or expand comprehensive efforts to identify, respond to, treat, and support those impacted by illicit opioids, stimulants and other drugs of abuse.
A motion to approve the monthly report, which can be seen below as read aloud at Tuesday’s session, was approved by the Raleigh County Commission. More information on the COSSAP Grant can be found at the Bureau of Justice Assistance/Office of Justice Programs website here.
“This report is for the COSSAP, or Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program Grant for the Day Report Center to which it was awarded. The grant covers the complete salary package for the Peer Recovery Support Specialist working at the DRC for the Month of April 2022 in the amount of $4,021.84. In addition to the salary reimbursement of $4,021.84 that we’ll receive, we’ll also receive full reimbursement for all expenses incurred setting up the offices employee occupies. Grant funds totaling $3,082.50 will cover 100% of the cost of the office furniture, office chair, computer monitors and software. The check received for the month of April will be $7,824.34.”
