MADISON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Boone County couple is facing charges after investigators say they worked together to repeatedly steal alcohol from a Madison convenience store.
According to a complaint filed by the Madison Go-Mart manager, the incidents occurred on three separate occasions in early March 2026 at the store located on Madison Avenue.
Authorities allege that Donna Marie Caudill entered the store while her husband, Jimmy Ray Caudill, was working and took multiple cans of Natty Daddy beer without paying. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the alcohol being taken to the counter, where it was bagged without being scanned or charged.
The incidents allegedly occurred on March 1, March 6, and March 9, with a total of 29 cans of Natty Daddy beer taken during the three visits. The total value of the stolen merchandise was estimated at around $60.
Investigators say the scheme involved coordination between the two, with Jimmy Ray Caudill allegedly allowing the thefts to occur while on duty.
In addition, police say surveillance footage from March 6 shows Jimmy Ray Caudill taking a bottle of alcohol from a store refrigerator, concealing it, and later consuming it in the restroom before discarding the bottle.
The manager provided officers with video evidence and photographs documenting the incidents.
Based on the investigation, both individuals could face charges related to shoplifting and conspiracy. Authorities say the case remains under review as it moves through the legal process.
