MONROE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A fatal UTV accident has been confirmed in Monroe County.
According to The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, a side by side was traveling up Peters Mountains, and as the occupants came down the mountain, witnesses heard two pops. When the driver hit the brakes, they wouldn’t work, causing her to lose control.
The UTV hit a tree, and the driver, who was in her mid to late ’50s, was ejected and flown to Roanoke Hospital. She suffered a brain bleed and a broken wrist but is in stable condition. The front passenger, who was in her mid 20’s, was able to jump out and only suffered a cut on her leg. The back passenger, who was in her mid to late ’50s, was ejected and later died due to her injuries.
The WV State Police is currently investigating the crash.
