MONROE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A fatal UTV accident has been confirmed in Monroe County.
According to The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, a side by side was traveling up Peters Mountains, and as the occupants came down the mountain, witnesses heard two pops. Â When the driver hit the brakes, they wouldn’t work, causing her to lose control.
The UTV hit a tree, and the driver, who was in her mid to late ’50s, was ejected and flown to Roanoke Hospital. Â She suffered a brain bleed and a broken wrist but is in stable condition. Â The front passenger, who was in her mid 20’s, was able to jump out and only suffered a cut on her leg. Â The back passenger, who was in her mid to late ’50s, was ejected and later died due to her injuries.
The WV State Police is currently investigating the crash.
