BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On April 2, 2024, a significant breakthrough was made in a decades-old disappearance case involving a mother and daughter, Susan and Natasha “Alex” Carter, who went missing from Raleigh County, West Virginia, in August 2000.
After multiple searches of the residence of Larry Webb, who had lived with the two at the time of their disappearance, authorities, including the West Virginia State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, began excavating the yard of the property at 126 Kyle Lane.
During the excavation, at approximately 4:30 pm, investigators discovered what is believed to be the remains of Susan and Alex Carter. This discovery brings an end to a long-standing mystery and provides closure for the families of the victims. However, the suspect in the case, Larry Webb, who had been indicted for the murder of the juvenile, suffered a medical episode while incarcerated at Mount Olive on the same day and was pronounced dead at Montgomery General Hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released in the near future as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the tragic disappearance of the two females.
