MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as deputies investigate an animal cruelty case in the Maher area.
According to the sheriff’s office, a family returned home and discovered their pet dead and hanging from a tree.
Authorities described the incident as a “heinous act of animal cruelty” and are seeking information that could help identify the person responsible.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the Maher area or has information about the incident is asked to contact the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office at 304-235-0300 or 304-235-8551.
Tips may be submitted anonymously.
The sheriff’s office said any information could assist investigators in identifying the person responsible.
