PUTNAM COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A stolen tractor-trailer out of Columbus, Ohio didn’t get far thanks to the quick work of Deputy Fletcher and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department’s D-shift team.
On a routine shift, Deputy Fletcher received a BOLO (be on the lookout) alert for the stolen vehicle reportedly traveling along Route 35. With a keen eye and fast reflexes, Fletcher spotted the rig and attempted a traffic stop—but the suspect had other plans.
Instead of pulling over, the driver took off, leading deputies on a brief pursuit. The chase came to an abrupt end thanks to well-placed spike strips, allowing law enforcement to safely stop the vehicle and take the suspect into custody.

The stolen truck was recovered, and the driver was transported to Western Regional Jail to face charges.
Chief Deputy Shamblin praised the team’s work, joking, “Must’ve been that extra food this week.” Kudos to Deputy Fletcher and the entire D-shift crew for a job well done
