BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is in jail after an altercation broke out between him and a woman.
According to a criminal complaint, on June 8, 2021, police responded to Wilkes Ave to a domestic disturbance with shots fired. Â The suspect, Adam Shamblin, began to speak to police erratically. Â Shamblin stated that the victim was an ex-girlfriend who continued to live with him. Â Shamblin continued to tell police that she had undercover police always follow him and that she had taken ductwork out from under his home and cut trap doors in the floors so that she could sneak into the house. Â The suspect also said that the victim was using RF waves to burn him and put bleach in his water.
Police asked the suspect why he allowed the victim to live with him, and he stated that she had nowhere else to live and did not want her to live on the streets.
Police found visible bruises on the victim’s left arm. Â The victim told police that Mr. Shamblin had been holding her inside the residence, not allowing her to leave for the last 24 hours.
The victim alleges that Shamblin had taken her phone and destroyed it, so she could not call for help. Â She also stated that earlier in the morning, Mr. Shamblin began acting violently, slapping her in the face, hitting her in the back, grabbing her, throwing furniture, clothing, and other objects all over the house. Â He also fired two shots into the kitchen floor. Â At one point, she engaged in a struggle with Mr. Shambling and could get his phone, lay it on, and use the emergency feature to call 911 for help.
Shamblin is charged with wanton endangerment, unlawful restraint, domestic battery, and interference with emergency communications. Â He is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 25,000 dollar bond.
