FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Jodie man is facing felony charges in Fayette County. Sheriff Mike Fridley provides the following information regarding this incident.
On October 26, 2021, deputies received a notification of a domestic incident on October 25 in the area of Hawks Nest State Park on US Rt 60. The female victim told deputies that while traveling on Rt 60, her husband approached her in his vehicle and blocked her in the roadway. The male then pulled her from her vehicle while brandishing a firearm and struck her. The male then began to choke her until she lost consciousness. When she awoke, she convinced her husband to let her return home, where she fled to a neighbor for safety.
Matthew Tyler Coleman, 29 of Jodie, is charged with the felony offense of Strangulation and the misdemeanor offenses of Domestic Battery, Domestic Assault, and Brandishing a Deadly Weapon. Coleman was arrested by the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department and was transported to Central Regional Jail to await court proceedings.
