BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Downtown Beckley entertainment and recreation destination The Axe Hole has announced that it will be closing its doors at the end of the month.
The Axe Hole made its way to Neville Street roughly three years ago as an attempt to help revitalize the Downtown area with an outside-the-box activity.
According to Tony O. Martin of The Axe Hole, however, foot traffic in the Downtown area has been such that the establishment has been unable to generate sufficient interest to continue operations.
“For the past three years we have been the most fun that you can possibly have in Downtown Beckley. I take pride in that,” said Martin. “It’s a sad day… If you haven’t thrown axes yet, you have about three weeks to get in here and give it a shot.
The Axe Hole will close its doors permanently on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
The development follows the news of Uptown Beckley establishment Vinyl Tracks closing its doors as well, similarly citing a lack of substantial foot traffic in the Beckley area.
