CROSS LANES, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Kanawha Deputies seek assistance locating a driver after a vehicle struck a pedestrian in Cross Lanes on Friday around 11 AM.
The investigating deputy, M.A. Lonsinger responded to the 4700 block of Washington Street W., to find a 69-year-old male lying on the ground after being struck by a passing vehicle.
A witness stated the male was pruning a tree near the roadway and they witnessed the vehicle completely off the roadway at the time of the collision.
The investigation determined the fleeing vehicle, later identified as a dark blue Toyota Scion from video surveillance was traveling westbound prior to the crash. The driver crossed the center line and crossed the eastbound lane before driving off the shoulder and striking the male victim.
The vehicle appeared to have a recently repaired rear bumper that has a dull black finish compared to the rest of the vehicle.
The rear quarter panel has existing damage, and the brake light appears to be covered with red tape. The vehicle may have some fresh damage from yesterday’s crash.
The victim was treated at CAMC General Hospital for injuries received from the crash, and we are happy to report that he is now home recovering.
Deputies ask that if anyone can identify the driver or has information on the location of the vehicle to please contact Deputy M.A. Lonsinger.
