BEVERLY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Randolph County motorist has been cited after apparently looking down while entering a curve, resulting in significant motor vehicle accident.
According to Deputy Pingley of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on 10/03/2023, 911 dispatched a single-vehicle accidemt near the Hayfield Drive area or Beverly.
The vehicle involved had reportedly made contact with a pole, and Sgt. Cogar joined Deputy Pingley in responding to this location of the incident.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities report having observed pole lines across a single lane of roadway. The vehicle involved in the incident had lost control while navigating a curve and entered the ditch line.
Continuing in the ditch line, the vehicle struck a pole and spun around before coming to a rest.
As a result of the accident, the vehicle involved was declared totaled, though the driver was uninjured.
The unidentified driver disclosed to authorities that he had been looking down while navigating the curve, and was subsequently cited for failure to maintain control.
