RANDOLPH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A student at a West Virginia elementary school has been sent to the hospital after being hit by a car.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a vehicle/pedestrian collision in the parking lot area across from Coalton Elementary School in Coalton.
According to police, what is known at this time is that a vehicle was traveling through the parking lot, and while the driver was looking to the left to return to Broadway Lane in front of the school, an elementary student came from the right of the truck and was struck causing injury to the student.
Police say the student was transported by Randolph County EMS to Davis Memorial Hospital to obtain treatment.
No names are released at this time and this incident is currently being further investigated.
