ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The city of Elkins has sworn in a new police officer.
City officials say that Officer Justin White has joined the Elkins Police Department as a Police Patrolman and is a K9 Handler.
He is coming from the Belington Police Department and his K9 companion is Drax.
Officer White has a provisional appointment under the rules and regulations of the Elkins Police Civil Service Commission which met on Wednesday, September 27.
Because he has already completed the Police Academy and is a Certified Officer, he was able to be sworn in on his first day, Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
Officer White serves in the West Virginia Army National Guard and is a Combat Medic.
