FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia on Thursday received an Emergency Petition seeking approval of an Interim Emergency Operations and Maintenance Agreement between West Virginia-American Water Company and the Page-Kincaid Public Service District.
According to the petition, ongoing operational and financial challenges and the inability to make insurance payments prompted the parties to enter into the Interim Emergency Operations and Maintenance Agreement. West Virginia-American Water Company indicates it intends to begin assisting Page-Kincaid immediately.
In November 2025, a purchase agreement was filed concerning the proposed sale of Page-Kincaid Public Service District, Armstrong Public Service District, and Kanawha Falls Public Service District to West Virginia-American Water Company (Case No.25-0927-W-S-PC). That matter remains pending before the Commission.
In Thursday’s filing, the company states that, due to the circumstances currently faced by Page-Kincaid, immediate assistance is necessary and cannot wait until the closing of the proposed transaction.
Page-Kincaid Public Service District currently provides wastewater service to approximately 752 customers in Fayette County.
