Those left to cherish her precious memories are sons Arnold and wife Sherry Gray and Alfred (Al) Gray; a daughter Sherry and husband Danny Massey; sisters Shirley and husband Jurdon Acord and Carolyn (Sue) and partner Gary; brothers Alfred (Totty) and wife Betty Alderman and Jerry Alderman; grandchildren Stanley and wife Kristen Sweeney, Johnny and wife Ashley Sweeney, Ashton and wife Kaitlin Sweeney, Crystal and husband Billy Davis, Gia Gray, Colton and partner Hailey Adkins, Michael and wife Alicia Gray, Brandi and her fiancé Chad Gray, Brandon and wife Jill and Trevor and fiancé Nicole Gray; a multitude of great and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was raised in Eccles, WV. She graduated from Trap Hill High School and worked at the Colony Drug Store. She met and after graduating married our father. She was a homemaker and stayed at home to raise their family. Later on in life she worked at Pinecrest Hospital, Charlotte Police Department and varies other jobs. She had a huge heart and would help family, friends and strangers. She was a woman who loved life. She enjoyed spending winters at the beach, cooking, music, and dancing, laughter, traveling and being on the go, and most of all spending time with friends and family.
Her time on earth is over and Heaven re-gained the beautiful loving angel that was shared with us. She will be greatly missed and the lives she touched will never be the same. We will rejoice in Heaven with her one day, but for now we will take solace in knowing all her pain and suffering is gone. We know she is at her glorious home with her family.
Our family wants to give Hospice of Southern WV a very heartfelt Thanks for providing wonderful care and assistance to enable us to have kept our mother at home since April to fulfill her wishes.
A celebration of her life will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center. Visitation will be 2 – 4 pm and service to follow immediately after with Pastor Luke Hodges officiating.
