FAIRMONT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fairmont State University announced Friday that Jeffrey McCormick has been named the university’s Chief of Police.
McCormick has also accepted the position of Police Academy Director, and brings several decades of experience to the role.
Among the extensive experience he brings to the position is 20 years spent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served as a Special Agent in Washington D.C.
In D.C., McCormick lead the 24 hour command post for coordination of the FBI response to global incidents and terrorism threats as the Chief of the FBI Counterterrorism Watch.
McCormick also held positions in the FBI Firearms and Defensive System Training Units, and was Chief of the Leadership Programs Management Unit and the FBI National Academy.
During his time at the academy, McCormick was responsible for the training of over 3,000 law enforcement executives from around the country, as well as from international countries.
