CLAY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Monday, January 10, 2022, at approximately 5:30 am, Trooper J. A. Miller of the Clay Detachment was advised by Clay County 911, of a driver traveling north in the south bound lane of I-79.
At approximately 5:32 am, Trooper Miller was advised that a head-on collision involving the wrong-way driver occurred. Upon arrival on the scene, Trooper Miller found the victim, Elva G. Hudson, age 75, of Wallback, West Virginia, had suffered severe trauma. Elva Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The driver of the other vehicle involved did not appear to be injured. Trooper Miller determined the car being driven by Elva Hudson was the same vehicle reported as traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-79. This investigation remains active and ongoing.
