PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Early Sunday morning, officers responded to a fight in progress at 1223 Robbins Street in Princeton, West Virginia. The altercation involved a father and son, and both men required medical evaluation following the incident.
At approximately 2:36 a.m., Officer S.W. Owens and Officer E.F. Ford arrived at the residence to find Chester Gross Jr.and his father, Chester Gross, engaged in a physical altercation on the kitchen floor. Officers immediately intervened and detained Gross Jr.
Incident Details
According to statements given to officers, Gross Jr. arrived at the residence intoxicated and initiated a fight with his father. In an effort to protect himself, Mr. Gross restrained his son in a chokehold until officers arrived.
Officers observed visible injuries on Mr. Gross, including a lump on the side of his head and a black eye on the left side of his face. Emergency medical personnel were called to assess Mr. Gross for any additional injuries.
Medical Treatment and Arrest
Gross Jr. was transported to WVU Medicine Princeton Hospital for treatment of a facial wound, which he stated had occurred earlier in the night at a bar and was unrelated to the altercation with his father. After receiving medical care, Gross Jr. was taken to the Princeton Police Department for processing.
Legal Proceedings
Following processing, Gross Jr. was transported to the Southern Regional Jail, where he is being held awaiting arraignment. The case remains under investigation.
